This is a beautiful small 19th century Russian lacquer papier mache box with the most wonderful decoration to the front,  the colours are just amazing, almost iridescent in parts.  Inside is the Russian imperial eagle and some Cyrillic letters.  Very good condition.  Also in the box is a note, which I have no reason not to think it is original and has been in the box since it was given as a guest.  Given by Lady Dunmore.
