American Silver Cafe Royal Spoon - Gorham

A lovely example of a Cafe Royal spoon, American silver by Gorham Manufacturing Co crescent mark for 1895. I understand that this sat on the top of the coffee cup, hence the hook on one side, a sugar cube would be placed in the centre, brandy poured over and then the contents tipped into the cup. Once description mentions the brandy being set alight. Lovely hexagonal shape with beaded edge to the bowl and handle. A very elegant piece of silver
