Beautiful heavily embossed American Sterling silver sliding pencil made by Fairchild & Johnson Ny. This partnership existed from 1898-1905. It is marked sterling and the makers mark Fj, on the opposite side is a blank cartouche. The pencil would appear to have had very little use, the sliding mechanism is quite stiff.
