A 19th century treen magic trick.
There are two tops, the first one lifts off to reveal a half ball fixed into the frame. The second part lifts off to reveal a full red ball.
It is a great colour and patination.
It appears to be finer than some and there is evidence that the stem has been broken but expertly repaired, barely visible to the eye.
There is also a hairline crack to the half ball, I couldn’t actually photograph it, however we always point out damage & repairs.
