An antique silver spoon made in Revel, Estonia in the 19th century. These spoons are known as Captain Spoon. They were given by merchant houses and agents as recognition of a successful voyage and cargo arriving safely. This one is marked Herman George Clemens city mark for revel and the number indicates the fineness of silver. This particular spoon was given bt Thomas Clayhill & Son who were a forwarding agent. Clayhills originated from Dundee. The few i have found online ate lster dated than this one which is engraved 1818. Please contact us with any questions you may have regarding this item.
