This is a super quality Danish silver plated box.

This plated box dates from around 1900 and bears the makers mark for Hugo Grun. It is from the Arts & Crafts movement known as Skonvirke.

It is all hand planished, the inside of the lid is gilded and the base is covered in velvet. The inside of the box is lined in wood. Could be put to various uses, jewellery box, playing card box etc.... Decorated to the top with an inset tortoishell plaque.
