Tortoiseshell

This is a wonderful set of 3 tortoiseshell and paste hair combs in their original velvet case.

The box is a really deep blue velvet and is in excellent condition, no wear.  The inside is lined in cream velvet and cream silk.  The inside of the lid has a gold crown motif, not sure if this indicates the maker of the combs or if they were made for royalty?

They are truly wonderful, no pastes missing and two of the combs are in perfect condition.  The middle comb in the box has one tooth missing, which does not detract from the fact that these are really wonderful.
