A super example of a Georgian Cowrie Snuff Box.

Family crest for for the Tharp family of Chippenham Park, Cambridgeshire.

Chippenham Park was bought in 1791 by John Tharp.

Makers mark for Thomas Phipps and Edward Robinson, this mark was entered in London in 1783.

Excellent condition , lovely shell, clear marks, gilding to inside.  Opens and closes extremely well.
