This is a super little cowrie snuff box, maybe for a lady, the shell is particularly attractive.  Circa 1800.

There are no marks to the silver, but this is quite common on such a small item of silver at this time.

It opens and shuts as well as the day it was made, it has a lovely concealed hinge.  

It is in fantastic order and such a sweet item.
