This is a good quality late 19th early 20th century gilded bronze monkey holding a skull.  I believe this is referred to as Darwins monkey.  

It has wear to the bronze where you would expect on the base of the feet and on the underside of the tail where it has been sitting on a surface.  It is a good weight.
