Item Details
A leather gentleman's wallet with a silver clasp Birmingham 1898 makers mark possibly Henry Marshall. The leather is in good order I think the notebook inside would have been attached possibly by elastic. The original pencil is present. The silver clasp does work but it can open quite easily so may need a small adjustment. A later silver presentation plaque has been added . Rev J J Cairney St Andrews 1900. Research on the net has found the following
He was born in Scotland on 29.2.1873 and went to New Zealand at the age of 2. He studied in Dunedin and became the assistant minister at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Christchurch. He retired in 1929.
