A lovely Victorian needle case most likely produced for the engagement or marriage of Princess Louise to the future Duke of Argyll so dates to 1870-1871.  The front is decorated with the Crown and her name.  The reverse is decorated with roses and thistles.  Inside there are 4 compartments for needles each decorated with a beehive.The overall condition is very good commensurate with age and use.  On the reverse there is a small patch of discolouration.
