This is a very good quality silver coloured engraved medal Manchester & Liverpool Agricultural Society, instituted 1847.  Medal has been made by Ottley Medallist Birmingham.  This was presented in lieu of a prize of £4.  Beautiful crisp detailed decoration to one side Cows, pig, sheep horse etc....   It was awarded to John S Wood Esq Clayton Vale for "Black Strap" 2nd best 2 year old gelding September 1858.
