Silver Lidded Pot 1878

A silver lidded pot dated London 1878 makers mark R.B not traced. This may be London, but the decoration around the pot is most definately not English. The wonderful animals around the outside indicate the decoration is most likely Thai. There are two oval panels depicting a 3 headed elephant. Having said this the decoration on the top is very european. The gilding on the inside is immaculate which indicates that this item is as new. The marks are on the inside rim of the lid.
