Item Details
The is a most unusual design and has no markings but tests as silver. We have attributed it to Matthew Linwood Birmingham circa 1818. We refer to the Society of Caddy Spoon Collectors catalogue 2015 page 29. The handle is identical to this example of Linwoods work. The bowl is absolutely wonderful and the gilding is in very good order. Perhaps this was a trial for this design and it never went into production.
